A Tairen army of 42,000 troops, (7,500 cavalry and 34,500 infantry), began marching from the capital in the early hours of the morning that passed a few days ago. They left behind a guard force of 10,000 levies.
The force marched straight into Illian controlled territory, where they began a systematic siege of each of the border forts that Illian had manned. The Illianer forces may have been weak, however they provided stout defense and made the Tairen forces pay for their sieges. By the time the Tairen force had destoryed the eastern forts and their garrisons they had paid a heavy cost. The Tairen force has lost 10,000 of its 15,000 stong contingent of pikemen. They have also lost 5,000 of their 19,500 strong force of crossbowmen and finally they have lost 500 units of cavalry. The Illianer force has lost three quaters of its strength, and the remnants are regrouping on the Illian road two days march west. They also have a force of levies that they are beginning to train.
So far the Tairen force has secured all the eastern border forts, along with vast swathes of eastern Illian. However the commander of the Tairen force has stalled the campaign to await the orders from the head office. Trout, If you could PM me with your plans that would be apprecitaed.
