Hello!!
Welcome to rulewot, the total war style game based on the Wheel of Time novels. The basic aim of the game is to conquer all of the West lands (every now and then you may hear it named Randland but they are the same things).
For those of you who have not read the Wheel of Time (WoT) series, here is a quick summary of the world;
There are also two other peoples you need to be aware of at the current time. These are the Aeil and the Atha'an Miere. The Aiel are formidable fighters and live on the otherside of the Dragonwall to the east. Only the Cairhienin are allowed to cross their lands to trade with the people who live beyond. The Atha'an Miere, also known as the sea folk, are very secretive. They are a neutral sea fairing nation who will trade with anyone in the Westlands, however they are notoriously hard bargainers so beware!
If you have read the WoT series you will notice that the Cairhienin can still trade across the Aiel waste, which means that Lamans folly has not ocurred yet (and therefore neither has the Aiel wars or the journey we follow through the books). The current state of the nations means that the game is situated somewhere between the war of 100 years and the Aeil war.
Tar Valon; Tar Valon is home to the Aes Sedai, simply put they are women capable of controlling a power called Saidar. Some are good some are bad, all however adhere to the Three Oaths. The Three Oaths are;
1. To never make a Saidar wrought weapon for one man to kill another,
2. To never speak a lie,
3. To never use Saidar as a weapon against anything other than shadowspawn, unless in the last protection for her life, one of her sisters or her warders.
The Aes Sedai are all women, their Warders are men who have vowed to protect them. Tar Valon is a nuetral faction in the game. Their movements through the game will be controlled by the moderates, their aim is peace between all the nations.

Some WoT readers may notice that you can't play as certain people, namely the Aiel, Atha'an Miere, Sharans, Aes Sedai and Seanchan. These points, along with having no names of kings or rulers and no dates, were kept out of the game to limit the amount of work for the admins. There are quite a few inconsistencies in some of the maps (i.e. most of them say made in the year 1000 or 900) but hopefully that shouldn't matter too much:D.
Right then, I think you should have a basic understanding of the current affairs in the westlands. So, how then do you start playing? Well firstly you need to decide how you would like to start the game. There are four options to you;
1. You can start by leading one of the nations without a current player as a ruler.
2. You can start by setting up a rebellion in one of the countries.
3. You can start up a new nation in an uncontrolled area of the map.
4. You can join and play alongside one of your friends.
There is a category named 'Applications' lower down on the home page. Once you have decided what type of game you want to play you need to go there and select the correct thread. (There is more information on what each of the three choices entail at the top of the thread). Then copy the application form into a new thread of your own giving details on the nation you would like to rule. Then post the application, one of the mods will try to set up your new nation as quickly as possible.
So Good Luck and once you have finished your Application come back and read the next thread!!
See you in a minute ;D
