I've mainly made this post to clarify one detail.
When an army is said to have a certain DRAFT size, this is a representation of the amount of men the nation could bring to arms in the case of all out war. Another way to describe them is as levies.
A STANDING army is an army that is constantly employed, the only profession of the men is soldiering.
The best description I have found of this is; "In times of war the Legion forms the core of the Ghealdanin war effort and trains new levies to support its operations." i.e. The Legion are the Standing army, the regular soldiers, and the levies are men recruited and trained at the last minute to provide numbers in the battle.
